Transportation: Travel around Napa Valley can be challenging depending on where you are living. It is entirely possible that you may need a car during your time here.

Due to limited (or no) local transportation, it is best for you to purchase a car or moped upon your arrival to get around. You will need your international driver’s license so you can purchase a car or moped to purchase, then you can live further outside the city center to cut down on costs. You will need to also insure your car/moped monthly. We advise you to bring additional $3000 for this option.

Climate: The Napa Valley is blessed with several microclimates that vary in temperature from one another, one of the reasons that such a wide range of wine grape varietals grow so well here. As a whole, temperatures in the valley vary strongly between the early morning and the evening. Throughout the year, depending on weather conditions, evening temperatures can be as much as 30 degrees cooler than daytime temperatures, and daytime temperatures can vary as much as 10 degrees at the same time of day between the northern and southern portions of the valley.
