Hotel Monteleone is seeking a talented J1 trainee to join our team, offering a unique opportunity to rotate through key roles as a Front Desk Agent, Supervisor, and eventually Assistant Guest Relations Manager. This hands-on experience will provide exceptional training in hospitality and customer service, setting you up for success in the industry.

During your time with us, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of New Orleans. Explore the historic French Quarter, savor world-renowned cuisine, stroll along the Mississippi River, and enjoy the city's lively music scene. From iconic jazz clubs and unforgettable festivals to hidden gems like Café du Monde and the stunning Garden District, New Orleans offers endless adventure and excitement for every traveler. Whether you're cruising the bayou or soaking in the city's rich history, the Big Easy is waiting for you!

Placement Remarks

Salary: $16 per hr

Benefits:

A uniform will be provided.
A meal is provided. 
They will receive 40 hours of PTO over the 12 months of training.
The hotel will provide airport pickup. They should fly into the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Please communicate your arrival with the DHR via email before you book your flight.
The hotel will provide 10 days of complimentary room and tax.

Staff housing is an option at $200 per pay period. Fully Furnished with double occupancy and next to the hotel.

Requirements

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:

•  You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)

•  You have shown consistent career growth over the last years

•  You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Housing:
You can find a 1 bedroom unfurnished apartment in the city and surrounding areas for around $1400+ per month. The closer to city center, the more expensive the apartment will be. With no established credit, you can expect to pay the first and last month’s rent as deposit for an apartment. HRC recommends you bring at least $3,000 as startup capital upon arrival.
