Placement Remarks
The hotel will provide you with up to 14 days of accommodations to include room and tax. All additional charges are on your own.
The hotel will provide a uniform and 1 staff meal per shift. You will need to bring your own knives and non-slip shoes.
You can accrue up to 10 days paid vacation time per year.
It is best if you fly into San Diego International Airport. No airport pick up will be provided. You can uber or Lyft to the hotel upon your arrival.

Requirements
Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:
• You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
• You have shown consistent career growth over the last years
• You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Housing: Housing in San Diego is expensive thus why it's very important you share your accommodations with another J1 candidate or find a local roommate. A one-bedroom unfurnished apartment will start at $2500. Keep in mind you will need to bring at least $3500 for start-up capital to put down a deposit and first-month rent.

Transportation: Depending on how far you live from the property will determine if you need to purchase a car, moped or a bike.
If you want to purchase a car, you will need to have your international driver's license and be willing to bring additional funds to purchase a car. Due to limited local transportation, it is best for you to purchase a car or moped upon your arrival to get around. You will need your international driver’s license so you can purchase a car or moped to purchase, then you can live further outside the city center to cut down on costs. You will need to also insure your car/moped monthly. We advise you to bring an additional $3000 for this option.
San Diego has a public transit system, the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System. Monthly fares can range from $72-100.
The best airports to fly into are San Diego International Airport (SAN) and John Wayne Airport Orange County (SNA).
