Local info
Transportation: There is a reliable bus service to get around the Tyson's Corner area. More transportation info, see here. This is the Washington DC metro, the silver line connects to McLean. Purchasing a bike might also be helpful for the area.
Housing: Housing in McLean can be expensive. The average monthly rent for a studio is $2,150 per month. We recommend that you consider rooming with another J-1 or local share the cost of the living. The metro is very reliable, which allows the option to live outside the city where the cost of living will be a bit less expensive. Please note, without established credit your first and last month’s rent may be required as a deposit. HRC recommends you arrive with at least $2,500 as startup capital and to help secure housing.
