Talented people with a background in cooking are wanted to join the team at this luxurious resort in the heart of wine country! The best regional, organic, and responsibly farmed ingredients are fully utilized by the executive chef. We make our own bread, pastries, and charcuteries, and the kitchen garden allows us to harvest the freshest ingredients right on the property. Placement Remarks
Rate of Pay - $23.00/hour
Benefits: Uniform will be provided (hat, jacket, and apron). Candidates will need to bring their own pants/shoes. Candidates will also need to bring their own knives.
One complimentary meal per shift.
Vacation/PTO will begin to accrue After 90 days of employment.
Housing is offered off site approx. 5 miles from the property at a cost of $900 or less depending on which house is available and if you have a roommate. Utilites are included in this cost. Housing cleaning fee is not included but the J1's are responsible for paying for this fee. If you violate the housing agreement you will need to move out within 14 days and find your own housing.
There is no public transportation in Napa. You may choose to purchase a car, but you must already have your international driver's license upon arrival. You should expect to bring an additional $5,000 to buy a used car and to have insurance coverage.
If you prefer to purchase a bike or scooter to get around Napa than that is your choice and a lesser expense.

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:
• You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
• You have shown consistent career growth over the last years
• You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Housing: The average 1-bedroom apartment in Napa, California costs around $2,000/month. Home-sharing is recommended to help lower the cost of their monthly housing (roomies). Please note, that without established credit, your first and last month’s rent may be required as a deposit. HRC recommends you arrive with $5,000+ as startup capital and to help secure housing. Transportation: Traveling around Napa Valley can be a challenge depending on where you are living. You may need a car during your time here. Remember to consider the cost of purchasing a vehicle and vehicle insurance. On average, a J-1 participant can expect to pay upwards of $400 on a used car payment per month and $150.00 per month for vehicle insurance. That being said, there is a modest bus system that goes around Napa called The VINE.
