On your days off, stroll along the charming Old Town waterfront, where you can explore the historic cobblestone streets, boutique shops, and waterfront parks. Delve into the city's rich history by visiting the George Washington Masonic National Memorial or the Torpedo Factory Art Center, where local artists showcase their talents. For a unique experience, hop on the free King Street Trolley, which takes you through the heart of Old Town. Indulge your taste buds at the diverse array of restaurants offering everything from classic American fare to international cuisine. Take a scenic bike ride along the Mount Vernon Trail, offering breathtaking views of the Potomac River and Washington, D.C. Wrap up your day with a ghost tour, exploring the city's haunted history and mysterious stories.

Rate of Pay:

Host: $15/hour

Restaurant Server: $4.50/hour + tips

It is customary in the US to work in “gratuity” positions. In these positions, you will receive a base hourly salary plus gratuity (tips). While the amount of a gratuity is ultimately at the discretion of the guest, the customary tip is 15- 20% of the total bill before tax. Based on history, you may expect to earn around $15 per hour.

Restaurant Supervisor: $15/hr

Benefits:

Complimentary 2 weeks housing on site provided.  Airport pick up not provided. 

Candidate must bring their own uniforms, black jacket, white shirts, pants , black non-slip shoes

$4.50 + tips - $15.00 per hour

Requirements

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:

•⁠  ⁠You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)

•⁠  ⁠You have shown consistent career growth over the last years

•⁠  ⁠You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Local info

Alexandria, Virginia, is a city on the Potomac River, just south of Washington, DC. It’s known for its Old Town, with brick sidewalks and well-preserved 18th- and 19th-century buildings. King Street is lined with boutiques and specialty shops. Founding fathers dined at Gadsby’s Tavern, now a museum with period objects and photographs. Carlyle House Historic Park is a restored Georgian mansion with a garden.

The D.C. area is home to a tremendous number of cultural activities to do, especially with regards to history, both nationally and worldwide! World famous for its historical monuments and cultural landmarks, there are very few cities in The United States that compare in terms of the number of iconic places to see!

The hotel is managed by Sage Hospitality. You should fly into Ronald Reagan International Airport.

Transportation:

Depending on the location of your housing, a car may not be necessary while living in D.C. The D.C. metro access across the D.C. area is quite convenient making travel around the city fairly easy. It is recommended that you get metro passes as soon as you can once in D.C. Also, it is important to note that the D.C. metro uses a sliding scale system regarding the cost of their metro, meaning that the further you travel on the metro the more expensive the trip will be. That means it is especially important to consider the location of your housing compared to where the hotel is.  If you live near the hotel you can walk or get a bike. Or you can use DASH.
