Explore beautiful sunny South Florida on your days off by enjoying the watersports, see the Art Deco District, Espanola Way, visit the Wynwood Walls, or Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

Cafe Attendant - 14.00
Host - 19.00
Server - 14.00
You will receive tips training as a server, your average per hour will be approx. $26 per hour based on your service.
Housing not provided. You will need to secure your temporary housing prior to your arrival. It's best if you live on South Beach unless you are purchasing a car to live farther out.
Uniform will be offered.
One meal per shift is provided at no cost.
During your training you will accrue 80 hours of personal time off and 48 hours of sick time after 1 year of service.

Requirements
Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:
• You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
• You have shown consistent career growth over the last years
• You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Transportation:
You can get around Miami using the metro-rail system or the public buses as well. While you can definitely walk around certain parts of the city, especially downtown, travelling any large distances might be challenging without a car. Housing:
Rent in Miami is very expensive with a one-bedroom, unfurnished apartment starting around $1,700 per month. Rent prices increase the closer to the beach and city center you get, so HRC recommends you begin your housing search before your arrival and share your accommodations which will cut down the monthly cost of living. HRC strongly suggests searching for apartments in South Beach area. Below is a list of helpful websites that could help expedite your housing search! To cut down on costs, we also recommend sharing an apartment with another J1 or local American.
Please note, without established credit your first and last month’s rent may be required as a deposit. HRC recommends you arrive with at least $2,000 as startup capital and to help secure housing.

Climate:
Miami is located at one of the most southern parts of Florida meaning that it has a fairly tropical climate. This means that Florida experiences frequent short bursts of rain and year-round warm weather. It is also usually very humid in Miami is well, making it feel even hotter. All of that said though, Miami is flanked on the east by beautiful coastline, and beaches that can be used year-round thanks to the perpetual warm weather.
