Placement Remarks
Salary:
$23.00 per hour
Uniforms are provided and laundered by the hotel. Lunch and dinner are provided complimentary in the employee cafeteria per shift. They are also several casual restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
PTO will be accrued after 90 days. Total time is based on amount of hours worked.
Hotel will provide airport pickup Reagan and Dulles are the nearest airport.
Hotel will provide 14 days of housing upon arrival based on occupancy. Public transport is readily available around the hotel.

Requirements
Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:
- you are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry
OR
- you have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA)
OR
- you have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
- you have shown consistent career growth over the last years
- you have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers
Local info
Arlington, Virginia is located just across the river from Washington, D.C. and home to several of its own historic sites. Visit the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City or the Village at Shirlington for diverse and numerous shopping options. Stop by the Columbia Pike corridor known as “the world in a zip code” to visit one of its several international restaurants. If you enjoy the outdoors more visit one of the several historic sites, hike one of the nature trails, or visit the waterfront. Arlington will keep you busy with countless sights and opportunities!
Housing:
Located in the Washington DC Metro area, Arlington can be moderately expensive. A studio apartment can start around $1,400+ per month, unfurnished. HRC recommends that you consider rooming with another J1 or local to share the cost of living. The metro is very reliable, which allows the option to live outside the city where the cost of living will be a bit less expensive. Please note, without established credit, a deposit of the first and last month’s rent may be required. HRC recommends you bring at least $3,000 as start-up capital to help secure housing.

Arlington has excellent public transportation which includes the metro, buses, and bikeshares. The metro is the most popular and reliable option with 11 stations in the greater D.C. area. Climate:
The weather and climate in Arlington come with hot summers and mild winters. Spring weather in Arlington is pleasant with temperatures during April ranging from daily highs of 21°C / 70°F, dropping to 7°C / 45°F. During summer (June-August) the climate in Arlington can be sunny and humid with temperatures peaking as high as 32°C / 90°F. Night temperatures during summers in Arlington drop to around 20°C / 68°F and it is always advisable to be prepared for cool evenings. Winters in Arlington are relatively mild with the city only receiving an average of 15 in. of snowfall each year. January is the coldest month with an average low of -3°C / 27°F.
