Benefits:
Rate of pay: $25.00 per hour
3.1 hours of accrued vacation time every 2 weeks, 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked
One meal per shift is provided complimentary.
A uniform will be offered. Bring your own suit for your supervisor role.
The resort will arrange airport pick if notified in advanced to one of these airports: SFO, OAK, STS, or SMF.
Housing is not provided but the resort will offer you a housing stipend of $500 per month to go towards rent. You will need to secure temporary housing prior to your arrival or reach out to your Buddy HRC assigned to you to ask for assistance.
Recommend a bike if living in Calistoga, or car if living in Napa.

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:
• You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
• You have shown consistent career growth over the last years
• You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Napa Valley is a stunning region located in Northern California. Though it is famous for its wine production, the region has so much more to offer. With countless trails to explore, Napa Valley is a beautiful place for nature lovers of all sorts. From stunning vistas, to adorable downtown area, Napa has something for everyone! Of course amongst all of the charm and class that the town exudes, Napa is most famous for its world famous wine production! Explore countless vineyards and winetasting opportunities around and outside of the town! Housing: The average one bedroom apartment in Napa, California costs around $2,000 a month. It is recommended that candidates reach out to other J1s in the area so they can try to find housing with one of them to help lower the cost of their monthly housing. Please note, without established credit your first and last month’s rent may be required as a deposit. HRC recommends you arrive with at least $5,000 as startup capital and to help secure housing.

Transportation: Travel around Napa Valley can be challenging depending on where you are living. It is entirely possible that you may need a car during your time here. Remember to consider the cost of purchasing a vehicle and vehicle insurance. On average, a J-1 participant can expect to pay upwards of $400 on a used car payment per month and $150.00 per month for vehicle insurance. That being said, there is a modest bus system that goes around Napa called The VINE. A link to the VINE website is provided.
Climate: This region of northern-California is famous for its fairly mild year round climate, featuring summers usually in the mid to high 70s°F (mid 20°C) and winters often in the range of the high 50s°F to lower 60s°F (mid 10°C). Rainfall in the region is almost non-existent during the summer time, but it makes up for it in the winter months, causing Napa Valley to get around 20 inches (51.8 mm) of rain annually.
