This Beautiful California Hilton hotel in Napa Valley is seeking a friendly and mature candidate who wants to grow their culinary skills! Rotate through Breakfast Cook, Banquets and Restaurant Demi Chef, then end your program as Restaurant Chef de Partie!
During your time off take time to explore the beautiful CA coast or travel to Napa or San Francisco! Explore the rich history of Sonoma at the Arts Museum or, if you have the need for speed, take a speed driver class at the raceway! This amazing, unique opportunity won't last long!

Benefits:
Host company will provide a black apron. Candidate should bring nonslip shoes. While cook shirts/coats are provided, the employer recommends candidates bring their own so they always have something clean available.
A meal is provided for each shift worked complimentary and the J1’s are not charged. Only taxed on their W-2.
The candidate will accrue PTO -The host company does not pay holiday, sick, vacation or personal time, they pay PTO which can be used for any purpose the candidate sees fit. PTO time begins accruing on the candidate's first day of work at .084615 per hour worked. If the candidate works a 40 hour workweek for 12 months, they would earn 22 days (or 176 hours) per year. For an 18 month stint it would be approx. 33 days.

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:
- You are enrolled in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)

Housing:
Housing in Rohnert Park is fairly expensive and it is recommended that you start reviewing housing in the area prior to your arrival. The average one-bedroom apartment starts around $1,400-$1,600 per month, unfurnished, not including utilities.
Keep in mind without any credit it the USA you will need to pay first and last month rent as a deposit. It is advised as a J-1 exchange visitor that you look into options of sharing housing with other locals and/or J-1 exchange visitors.
By doing so, you can reduce the costs per month to around $1,000; however, the costs can also be reduced if you are willing to live outside the city and take public transportation. Transportation:
There is a local public transportation system. However, depending on your location in proximity to the hotel, it is recommended that you bring enough money to purchase a moped or a car to make transportation easier, around $2,000-$3,000. You will need a driver's license if you are purchasing a vehicle. Otherwise, if you choose to use the public transportation, you are fully responsible to get to training on time.
If your apartment is close to the hotel, a bicycle might work. If it is further away from the hotel, leasing a car would be the best option.
