Placement Remarks
Candidate needs to bring their own black, non-slip shoes and set of kitchen knives.
The hotel provides a discount staff meal at $3.00 per meal or 50% off menu items.
After 90 days of employment you will start to accrue: 1 personal day, 4 sick days and up to 12 vacation days.
Hotel will provide up to 14 days of complimentary housing to cover room and taxes. All other expenses are your own responsibility.

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:
- You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
- You have shown consistent career growth over the last years
- You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Climate:
In Tysons Corner, the summers are warm and humid, the winters are very cold and snowy, and it is partly cloudy year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 26°F to 87°F and is rarely below 13°F or above 94°F.
Transportation:
The Tysons community is connected to every part of the Greater Washington region and the surrounding area by numerous modes of transportation. Four Metrorail stations with 16 entrances, 18 bus lines, and three circulator bus routes (422, 423, 424) currently serve Tysons, making it easier than ever to commute by rail or bus.
More than a dozen Capital Bikeshare locations and a rapidly expanding bike-lane infrastructure allow for affordable, eco-friendly transportation options, while the 25,000 parking spaces and easy access to major streets in all directions allow for easy access by car.
Housing: We recommend that you consider rooming with another J-1 or local share the cost of the living. The metro is very reliable, which allows the option to live outside the city where the cost of living will be a bit less expensive. Please note, without established credit your first and last month’s rent may be required as a deposit. HRC recommends you arrive with at least $2,500 as startup capital and to help secure housing.
