Beautiful 4* Marriott Hotel in Northern Ohio seeks an amazing culinary candidate to join their team! Train as a Restaurant and Banquet Demi Chef, then finish your program as a Restaurant Chef de Partie!

On your days off, visit the Toledo Zoo, the Mueseum of Art, the Botanical Gardens, take a trip to Imagination Station, or even the National Museum of the Great Lakes! Although its not a world-renowned town, Toledo is a great place to be with so much to do!

Placement Remarks

Salary: $18/hr

Benefits:

Candidates should bring their own knives.

A free meal is provided twice a day to associates.

PTO is accrued at a rate of 0.0385 per hour worked.

Candidates should fly into Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW).

14 days of complimentary room and tax on property will be provided to the candidate upon arrival.

Public transportation is popular in the area and utilized by a lot of the staff.

Requirements

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:

- You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)

- You have shown consistent career growth over the last years

- You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Housing:

Housing in Toledo ranges depending on the area you reside, but is affordable. Living downtown you can expect the cost of an unfurnished one-bedroom to start around $1,000 per month. This price can vary depending upon the area you choose,  so HRC recommends you begin your search before your arrival.  Please note, with no prior credit established a deposit of the first and last month’s rent may be required in order to obtain housing. Transportation:

Transportation in Toledo is very easy to come by with several options including rideshares, trolleys, buses, scooter shares, bike shares, and trains. Toledo is also a very walkable city when the weather allows. If taking the bus or train, monthly passes can be purchased for around $45 per month. Climates:

Toledo is most comfortable during the summer months when the temperatures do not get too high, but can have some humid and rainy days. The winters are less comfortable with heavy snowfall and low temperatures. Annually, Toledo received around 38 inches of rain each year and around 54 inches of snow each winter. Temperatures can reach as high as 83F (28C) during the summer with lows dropping to around 22F (-6C) during the winter.
