While training in Phoenix you get the opportunity to visit the Grand Canyon on a day trip, take a hot air balloon ride, want to learn more about the vibrant dessert plants visit the Desert Botanical Gardens, visit Chase Field to see a local baseball game, or take a relaxing day at the Phoenix Zoo. Same many wonderful places to explore if you enjoy nature with beautiful landscapes across America!

Placement Remarks

Hours required are 32 hours, this may fluctuate depending on the occupancy at the hotel up to 40 hours per week. 

Rate of pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour based on position

The hotel will provide a uniform, please bring your own black pants and comfortable closed toed shoes. (No jeans or yoga pants)

If you are training in the 3-11 PM shift, then an employee meal is provided to you. Otherwise, you can bring your own meal/snack. 

The hotel will provide up to 14 days of complimentary room and taxes. All other fees are your own responsibility. Upon your arrival take uber, lyft or a taxi to the hotel.

$17.00 - $19.00 / hour

Requirements

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:

•⁠  ⁠You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)

•⁠  ⁠You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Housing: 

Housing in Phoenix can vary widely depending on the area you choose to look at, but you can generally expect a studio or one bedroom apartment to start around $1,400. Below are some recommended complexes close to Desert Mountain. Please note, with no established credit a deposit of the first and last month’s rent may be required. HRC recommends you bring at least $3,500 as start up capital and to secure housing.

Transportation: 

A vehicle may be needed for commuting. Insurance will be needed for your vehicle and will cost around $150 per month. An international drivers license will also need to be acquired, if not already, while driving in the United States. HRC recommends you bring an additional $3,000 to help secure a vehicle and insurance. 

Phoenix also has public transportation. Bus routes, fares, and more can be found at valleymetro.org 

Climate: 

In Phoenix, the summers are sweltering and dry, the winters are cool, and it is mostly clear year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 45°F (7°C to 41°C) and is rarely below 37°F (2°C) or above 112°F (44°C).
