Launch your culinary journey at this acclaimed 4-star Southern boutique hotel! Gain hands-on experience as a Demi Chef across Garde Manger, Entremetier, and Meat/Grill (Hotline) stations, setting the stage for your promotion to Restaurant Chef de Partie.

Charleston, SC is a vibrant and picturesque city where you can easily walk or bike to work. On your days off, explore the charm of downtown Charleston, tour the historic Fort Sumter, or immerse yourself in one of the city’s many cultural experiences. Whether you're into history, food, art, or the coast, Charleston offers something special for everyone.

Placement Remarks

Rate of pay: $18.00 per hour

The culinary cooks will receive an extra $160/month from a service charge.

You will need to bring your own knives, non-slip shoes, and black pants.

Benefits:
The candidate should fly into Charleston, SC airport and can Uber to the hotel. The host company will reimburse them for the Uber ride. 

Host Company can provide 10 days of room and tax on property and can extend if needed. 

There is public transportation but biking is also easy in downtown Charleston.

Candidates can now accrue up to 40 hours of PTO!

Requirements

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:

•  You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)

•  You have shown consistent career growth over the last years

•  You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

Charleston, South Carolina is a historic and beautiful destination with countless national parks and forest dotting the area, any lover of the natural world would find themselves right at home here. That being said, Charleston is a worldly city in its own right as well. With a population of 100 thousand and rising, Charleston is becoming an extremely diverse city with a rich history in the region. Famous for blues and “low country” style, South Carolina is a fabulous destination for any candidate wanting to experience true southern culture with the backdrop of a seaside city. Housing:
Housing options in Charleston are extremely varied, depending on where the candidate would like to live. Apartments outside of downtown can be as cheap as $900 per month for a one bedroom apartment, but in downtown, the average price of a one bedroom apartment downtown is around $1500 per month. It is recommend that candidates bring around $2500 for startup money, because since they do not have credit here in America, candidates will likely have to pay for their first and last months’ rent up front, plus a security deposit of likely a few hundred dollars. Transportation:
Charleston is a very friendly city for those who prefer to walk, with plenty of sidewalks all around the city. Charleston also has plentiful bike trails as well. That being said, if you prefer mass transportation instead, Charleston does have a mass transit system in the form of “Low Country Rapid Transit” which is a bus system that goes all around the city. For specific information about getting around Charleston via mass transit, please see the below link. If you plan to travel around the region outside of Charleston, then you may wish to purchase a used vehicle. The average used car will cost you around $400 months, plus around $100 for car insurance.
