Placement Remarks
Rate of pay is $26.25 per hour.
Uniform is offered and dry cleaned by the hotel. Bring your own non-slip closed toe shoes and your knives.
A complimentary meal per shift is offered.
You will need to secure your own transportation from the airport upon arrival.
The hotel can accommodate you with 14 days of complimentary room and taxes based on occupancy. Any other expenses are on your own.
Sign on bonus paid out upon arrival $1000.

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:
• You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
• You have shown consistent career growth over the last years
• You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers

The hotel recommends the J1's to buy an E-bike, bike or scooter to get around locally.
Housing: In Santa Barbara and the surrounding areas, like Hope Ranch, is moderately expensive but it is still recommended that you start reviewing housing in the area prior to your arrival. The average one-bedroom apartment starts around $2550 per month, unfurnished, not including utilities. Keep in mind without any credit it the USA you will need to pay first and last month rent as a deposit. It is advised as a J-1 exchange visitor that you look into options of sharing housing with other locals and/or J-1 exchange visitors. By doing so, you can reduce the costs per month, however the costs can also be reduced if you are willing to live outside the city and take public transportation. Climate: Santa Barbara experiences a warm-summer Mediterranean climate characteristic of coastal California. In the winter, storms reach California, some of which bring heavy rainfall. Summers in Southern California are mostly rainless. Annual rainfall totals are highly variable snow sometimes covers higher elevations of the Santa Ynez Mountains but is extremely rare in the city itself.
